Relationships are tough, you put a lot in and get nothing back at times. So if you are someone who has a lot of love to give but no one to give it to then this is for you. In fact this is for everyone. This is a guide on how to love and care for your clothes so that you can live happily every after and help the planet do the same.
DO YOU REALLY NEED ME, DO YOU REALLY WANT ME?
It's not fair to lead others on, so if you aren't ready to get into a relationship then just don't! If you already have that jumper at home or one alike ask yourself if you really need another one. Will it live a worthless existence and end up in landfill when there is no more space for it in your wardrobe?
(Although a lot of damage to our environment is caused in the making of our clothes, the majority of it is actually in the washing, drying and disposal of the garment.)
BE GENTLE & BE COOL
Honeymoon periods can last forever if you remain attentive. So if you think you have found the one don't go throwing it away with careless actions. Be sure to read care instructions so you know how your garment wants to be treated. We suggest washing at 30°, hand washing or asking dry cleaners for a 'green clean', (an eco friendly version of the normal service.)
No one or no thing wants to be messed around so avoid using the tumble dryer and opt for air drying instead.
IF IT'S BROKE, JUST FIX IT!
Things aren't always going to be plain sailing and when they aren't you don't just throw them away and get a new one. You just fix it! Well do your best to anyway. Things break, so if you have something that you love but can't wear anymore because it seems to be broken, send us an email with pictures and the problem and we will do all we can to advise you on what is best. IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO SAY SORRY
We all make mistakes but sorry goes a long way. We've all bought a cheap garment without thinking about if we really need it, we've washed it when it didn't need it and we got rid of it before it was ready to go. But it's not too late to start being conscious about these things even if you want to start introducing them slowly into your wardrobe cycle.
ME, ME, ME
There are two in a relationship so don't forget it's not all about you. Be inquisitive and ask questions. Who made this is always a good place to start. It might take a bit of time to really get to know but once you do it will be worth it and if it's not, you won't make the same mistake. It's good to break down prices, if a t-shirt cost a fiver once you have worked out fabric costs there probably isn't much left for labour. Obviously this isn't always the case but these are things to start thinking about.
AND THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER...
By giving your things the respect they deserve you will live a happy life together and see one another into your old age and we all love a fairytale ending!
